Taking Latin-funk to a whole new psychedelic level.

Brownout is an eight-piece Latin funk band, that has ties to fellow Austin bands Grupo Fantasma, Ocote Soul Sounds and have even jammed with Prince in Las Vegas. They've created a buzz in their hometown of Austin, TX but with their new cd Aguilas and Cobras, the buzz is getting louder.

The album dropped September 15, showcasing the crazy blend of psychedelic rock and Latin-funk, and the members are just as ecelectic as the music. There's the basic instruments: bass (Greg Gonzales), guitar (Beto Martinez/Adrian Quesada), drums (Johnny Lopez). Followed by the funk: saxophone (Josh Levy), trombone (Speedy Gonzales), trumpet (Gilbert Elorreaga) and congas (Sweet Lou).

The band just played a show at SOB's in New York, and will hit Austin once more on November 7th at Club Deville.
