José Feliciano: ¡Indignado!

Puerto Rico, 23 de abril, 2008.- El cantautor puertorriqueño José Feliciano dice sentirse herido por toda la atención que recibió en los medios locales e internacionales la boda del reguetonero Don Omar. Al día siguiente de la boda, Feliciano cantó ante más de 57 mil personas en el Yankee Stadium en Nueva York con motivo de la visita del Papa Benedicto XVI.

Según reportara el rotativo El Nuevo Día, para Feliciano fue una grata experiencia cantar ante el sumo pontífice, pero no oculta su tristeza ante la poca atención que recibió de los medios que lo único que hablaban era de la fastuosa boda de Don Omar y Jackie Guerrido.

"Para mí esto fue algo muy especial, porque entre tantos artistas hispanos, Dios me escogió a mí. En Estados Unidos se vio todo el evento en vivo y yo esperaba que algún canal de Puerto Rico hiciera el esfuerzo para transmitirlo. Fíjate que para cubrir la boda de Don Omar, que no es un evento tan importante, todo el mundo estuvo allí."

"Pero me siento bien orgulloso, porque es otra etapa en la vida mía en la que puedo poner a Puerto Rico en el mapa. Aunque a veces siento que los esfuerzos que hago por la patria no son muy apreciados... ", expresó el artista con nostalgia y resignación.

El cantante que se distingue por su sinceridad y no tiene miedo en decir lo que piensa, expresó que es frustrante que los medios le den tanta cobertura a los chismes, sin embargo no se le de tanto espacio a las cosas buenas.

En la agenda del artista le aguardan compromisos en Europa y un concierto en la Isla antes de que finalice el 2008.
