LATIN GRAMMY 2007

Latinos or anglos: Which do you prefer?

Belinda - Avril Lavigne

Many consider Belinda to be the Mexican Avril Lavigne. It's a definite possibility with her "rocker" look, blonde hair, rebel attitude, and her voice and lyrics. What do you think?

Don Omar - Akon

"El Don" started his career by singing the most underground "perreo." But now his style is more romantic and hip-hop, his voice sounds like Akon, and to top it all off, they even dress the same.

Shakira - Beyonce

These two divas can fool anyone into thinking they are the other. What better evidence than the "Beautiful Liar" video where they look exactly alike?

Maná - U2

Maná and Irish band U2 share very similar music styles, especially their songs that criticize society. Each group also has four members. Coincidence?

Residente Calle 13 - Eminem

Eminem is known for his crude hip-hop songs and profane language. We could say the same of Residente, as he says, "Se vale to-to."

Luis Miguel - Michael Bolton

Romantic. That's the one word you could use to describe Luismi and Michael Bolton, who have similar-sounding voices and ballads. With their bohemian styles, both have attracted much attention from female fans.

Kat DeLuna - Rihanna

If you turn on the radio and think it's Rihanna, you should pay better attention because she has a strong Latin competitor. It's Kat DeLuna, who will make you party with "Whine Up."

Thalía - Mariah Carey

They sing ballads, share similar voices, and have even shared the same husband (Tommy Mottola). We're talking about pop-singers Thalia and Mariah.

Draco vs. STP

These two are enigmatic, distinct, and eccentric. The only difference is that Draco sings his stories in Spanish, while the Stone Temple Pilots do it in English and have a lighter sound.

Kalimba - Lenny Kravitz

Between their afros and their voices, anyone could get Kalimba and Lenny Kravitz mixed up. But if you listen closely, you'll see that they each have an unmistakable musical style.

La Guzmán - Amy Winehouse

Throughout the 90s, Alejandra Guzmán cancelled numerous concerts due to abuse of drugs and alcohol. British singer Amy Winehouse is now famous for doing the same and has recently checked into "Rehab."

Paulina Rubio - Kylie Minogue

These two blondies, Pau and Kylie, are just as crazy, but they put on an genuine show, full of energy. They may be from opposite sides of the globe (Mexico and Australia), but they've had very similar careers.

RBD - High School Musical

Both of these pop groups were originally characters on the TV screen, and have roused excitement from both younger and older audiences.

Kinky vs. Prodigy

Both of these electronica stars have won over audiences with their originality and craziness. What makes Kinky different from Prodigy? His accordion.

Café Tacuba vs. RHCP

Both of these groups are famous for the "clothes" they wear on stage. The lead singer of Café Tacuba sports different hats that cover his entire head, while the Peppers wear socks that cover...

Gloria Trevi - Britney Spears

Gloria Trevi lets her hair loose while Britney lets everything else go loose (she doesn't have much hair to show, anyway). Despite the fact that they're both wildly out of control, we still love 'em!
