Marc Anthony before

In 1991, the Puerto Rican singer released his first album, and, in 1999, won a Grammy for Best Tropical Album.  However, 2005 was Marc's best year, as he won two Latin Grammy awards: Best Latin Pop Album for "Amar Sin Mentiras" and Best Tropical Album for "Valió la Pena".

This year, he starred in the film "El Cantante" with his wife Jennifer Lopez. This film centered on the life of Héctor Lavoe (Puerto Rican salsa singer).  He is currently on a world tour with J-Lo. Rumors abound that the couple is expecting twins.

    Thalía before

    The Mexican singer began her career when she was a mere one year old, in a drink commercial.  In 1986, she was part of Timbiriche (Mexican pop-rock group). Aditionally, she acted and starred in several soap operas. She debuted as a solo artist in 1990.

      Her "boom", was with the album "Arrasando" (2000). In December of this year, she married the ex-president of Sony Music, Tommy Mottola. She has released new albums almost yearly, with her last being "El Sexto Sentido". She is now a first-time mother and is enjoying motherhood.

        Ricky Martin before

        The Puerto Rican singer's real name is Enrique Martin Morales and was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, on December 24, 1971.  He first appeared on TV at age 8 in a milk commercial and began his music career at 12 with the pop group "Menudo".  He has acted in Spanish soap operas.  Ricky launched his solo singing career in 1991.

          In 1993, the "sex symbol" launched the CD "Me amarás". He then acted in "General Hospital" and in Broadway's "Les Miserables".  He has launched 10 albums since 1995 and was the 2006 Latin Grammy's Person of the Year.  He received a star in Hollywood's Walk of Fame this past October and his last album was "MTV Unplugged".

            Shakira before

            The singer's real name is Shakira Isabel Mebarak Ripoll. In 1991, when she was 13, Shakira launched his first album, titled "Magia", which did not obtain much success. The same occurred in 1993 with her second record, "Peligro". She began with a youthful image and jet-black hair.

              However, in 1995, she released "Pies descalzos", which sold 4 million copies and later launced "Donde están los ladrones". In 2001, Shakira released "Laundry Service", while changing from brunette to blonde. "Oral Fixation 1 and 2" were her last two CDs, and she has received a total of eight Latin Grammys.

                Belinda before

                The Mexican singer began her artistic career when she was only 10 years old. She began in television when she was still a child, and debuted as an actriess in the "novela" (soap opera) "Amigos por Siempre" in 2000. She later went on to star in "Aventuras en el tiempo" and "Cómplices al rescate".

                  In 2003, the young diva launched of her first album titled "Belinda". She was also part of the cast of the film "The Cheetah Girls 2". Currently, she is out touring and promoting her latest album, "Utopía", for which she has obtained many honors, including two MTV Latino awards.

                    Maná before

                    In 1978, the first incarnation of Maná, called "Sombrero Verde" ("Green Hat Spie") was born, and mainly played covers. In 1986, they renamed the group "Maná", which stands for "positive energy" and is comprised of Fher, Alex, Sergio, and Juan. They launched their first CD in 1987.

                      In 1989, they launched "Falta Amor", which contained their successful singles "Rayando el sol" and "Perdido en un barco". So far, they have recorded 13 albums, with their latest being, "Labios Compartidos", which won the Best Rock Album award in the 2006 Latin Grammys.

                        The Spanish singer has always been involved in music and first experience was when he played the guitar at the age of eight. In his youth, he was part of many musical groups. In the 80's, he recorded the children's album "Los chulos son pa' cuidarlos". In 1991, he recorded his first "adult" album, "Viviendo de prisa".

                          In 2001, he launched "El alma al aire" to great success. He is very popular worldwide and has collaborated with many non-Latin artists, such as The Corrs. The Spaniard has recorded 18 albums throughout his career. He is currently promoting his latest CD, "En el tren de los momentos", and has won 22 Latin Grammy awards.

                          Elvis Crespo before

                          The singer is known as the creator of "merengue bomba". He joined Willie Berríos's orchestra at age 17. Later, he joined several groups, including "Grupo Manía", which propelled him as a merengue force. In 1999, he decided to break out as a solo artist with his album "Suavemente".

                          In 1999 he launched another CD, "Píntame", which also enjoyed great sales. In 2002, he released "Urbano" and in 2004, "Wow Flash". His last album was titled "Regresó el Jefe". In total, he has recorded seven albums as a solo artist and has won 12 Latin Grammys throughout his career.

                          Miguel Bosé before

                          Miguel Luchino González Bosé has enjoyed musical popularity from the 70's until today. Bosé entered music fully in 1975, launched his first album in 1977 and, in 1978, released his second album, "Miguel Bosé". In 1980, he released "Miguel", his most important album. In 1984, he launched his most popular record, "Vandido".

                          In 2001, he released "Sereno", in 2004, "Por vos muero", in 2005, "Velvetina", and this year, "Papito", which is a compilation of his greatest hits and contains multiple duets with many nusical colleagues. Bosé has 21 albums under his belt and has sold 10 million records.

                          Juan Luis Guerra before

                          The "merengue" star had a flair for music since childhoff, and after finishing a Bachelor's Degree in Literature, he decided to study music in the Santo Domingo Conservatory. In 1984, he recorded his first album, titled "Soplando". Today, that record is considered a collector's item.

                          Two of his most popular albums are "Ojalá que lleva café", which received international praise, and "Areyto" (1992), which dealt with the harsh realities of the poor class in the Dominican Republic. In 2004, he launched "Para ti" and, this year, "La Llave de mi Corazón". He will be recognized as Person of the Year in this year's Latin Grammys.

                          Beyoncé before

                          The singer began her artistic career in 1997, with the group "Destiny's Child". She debuted as a solo artist in 2003 with her album "Dangerously in Love", which reached the top spots on the music charts behind the hits "Crazy in Love" and "Baby Boy". The diva had now sports a mature and refined look.

                          Her second album, "B'Day" (2006) was very successful and the single, "Irreplaceable", reached the top of the charts. She also had success with "Listen". Beyoncé joined Latin idols Shakira (in "Beautiful Liar") and Alejandro Fernández (with the smash-hit "Amor Gitano"). So far, the diva has won seven Grammy awards.

                          Paulina before

                          The diva began her artistic career when she was only ten years old, under the tutelage of Miguel Bosé. Later, she became part of the well-known pop group Timbiriche. In 1991, the singer abandoned Timbiriche and focused on her first solo effort, "La Chica Dorada", launched in 1992 and achieved great success.

                          Paulina after

                          In 2000, she launced her fifth album, "Paulina". "Border Girl" (2002), "Paulatina" (2004), and her latest, "Ananda" (2006) make up his discography. The diva has sold over 17 million records throughout her career. Her last three albums reached the top spot in the US Top Latin Album charts.
